alsa-base software package provides ALSA driver configuration files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install alsa-base
alsa-base is installed in your system.
Make ensure the alsa-base package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep alsa-base *
You will get with alsa-base package name, version, architecture and description in a table
